Geography - River Features

A very interesting lesson as we went down a journey of the River Severn - the longest river in Britain.

We started at the source.

Then  moved to the stream, here the water is moving quickly and has lots of energy. The river is usually smaller and has rapid, tumbling flow that cuts narrow channels.

The middle course is where the river get wider and slows down. Rivers often meander along the middle course as the current no longer has any force.

The lower course is the end of the river and it is called the  mouth.

The children are looking forward to our walk.
